This spring study devotional was designed in partnership with my church, Northwest Community Church, as a visual journey through the story of Jesus. The goal was a more masculine look and feel that is strong, intentional, and grounded while honoring the depth and sacrifice at the heart of Jesus’ life.
Through bold typography, a restrained palette, and structured layouts, the design reflects both the strength and humanity of Jesus’ story in 150 pages.
In round one of the design process, I explored two distinct directions: pairing typography with bold, narrative-driven photography, and alternatively allowing strong, expressive type to carry the design on its own. This phase focused on how these elements could work together, or independently, to communicate strength, clarity, and cohesion across the study book.
